Abstrak

This community empowerment program was initiated to address the urgency of optimizing local commodity potential while simultaneously mitigating the risk of post-harvest losses in the Sarangan tourism area. Through the intervention of Appropriate Technology (AT) and the strengthening of institutional governance, this initiative focuses on a downstreaming strategy to actualize the principle of zero waste loss. Field implementation results demonstrate comprehensive success; premium-quality strawberries remain maximally absorbed by the tourism ecosystem, while sorted yields have been successfully converted into various value-added preserved products that extend the commodity's shelf life. This product diversification directly injects financial liquidity. The transformation of Lumbung Stroberi into a legally registered micro-agribusiness entity has elevated the creditworthiness (bankability) status of the farmer group before formal banking institutions. This improvement in the managerial profile not only opens opportunities for more aggressive market expansion but also triggers a multiplier effect through inclusive employment absorption for rural women and youth. The success of this socio-technical engineering on the slopes of Mount Lawu distributes essential empirical data for updating higher education curricula in agricultural socio-economics, and presents a factually validated public policy prototype for the Magetan Regency Government to be widely replicated across various regional flagship commodity centers.
